Both the boys and girls varsity cross country teams are state-bound after outstanding performances at the WIAA Sectional 9 meet October 25! The boys team captured the sectional championship, qualifying for the 2025 WIAA State Cross Country Championships in Wisconsin Rapids. This marks the 14th state appearance in the last 16 years, and the team is currently ranked 11th in Division 1—a testament to their hard work and consistency.
The girls team also punched their ticket to state, following a meaningful moment of inspiration. Members of the 2005–2007 varsity girls cross country teams returned to campus on Friday to share encouragement, advice, and Wisco pride with our current runners before the big race.
A special thank-you to alumnae Diana (Spiegelberg) Kerr ('07), Katrina “Ketti” (Amborn) Oldenburg ('07), Angela “Angie” (Blasezyk) Raasch ('08), Kelsie (Birschbach) Festerling ('08), Kari (Baltutis) Vokes ('06), Erica (Spiegelberg) Koester ('10), and Emily (Goodger) Grimm ('05) for cheering on the next generation of Vikings.
Catch both teams competing on Saturday, November 1, at The Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids — girls race at 1:10 p.m., boys at 3:05 p.m. Go Vikings!
