Late Start Wednesdays Begin August 23
To create a common time when teachers and departments can meet and grow professionally, WLHS observes a teacher collaboration schedule on Wednesdays during the 2023-24 school year. Beginning Wednesday, August 23, and every Wednesday through May 15, teachers will meet from 7:45-8:45 a.m. First period will begin at 9:00 a.m. While students do not need to come to school until first hour at 9:00 a.m., the doors will be open at 7:00 a.m. to accommodate any students whose transportation or family schedule requires an earlier arrival. Our teachers supervise and coach a wide range of activities that meet before and after school. Finding a time when all are available to grow professionally is a challenge. This schedule allows us to progress and increase academic rigor in our classrooms.
