Coach Walz Named WBCA Boys Basketball Coach of the Year
Congratulation to Coach Ryan Walz ('92) who has been named Boys Basketball Coach of the Year by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) for the 2024–25 season! Coach Walz shares the honor with Jesse Cyrus of Cochrane-Fountain City.
Under Coach Walz’s leadership, the Vikings captured the WIAA Division 1 state title after being elevated from Division 2 by the Tournament Performance Factor. The team rose to the challenge, winning the Woodland-West Conference and clinching the championship with back-to-back nail-biters—defeating Oshkosh North 58–57 and Marshfield 57–55. The Vikings finished the season with an outstanding 28–2 record. We celebrate Coach Walz for his dedication, leadership, and the excellence he brings to Wisco basketball!
