Congratulations to English teacher Lisa (Festerling) Rouse ('02), our first recipient of The Shepherd's Heart Award. The Shepherd’s Heart Award, a new annual recognition established through the generous support of Mr. Jason and Mrs. Nancy ('72) Nelson, seeks to honor one outstanding teacher at Wisconsin Lutheran High School who exemplifies the qualities of a Christ-centered educator.
Mrs. Rouse was nominated for
her love for Jesus that comes through in her thoughts, words, and actions
her welcoming and nurturing attitude that she extends to everyone
her inspiration to her students to strive for excellence

Once a year, a selection committee reviews nominations, and the award recipient is given a monetary gift. Active faculty can be nominated and may only be awarded every five years.
