During three weeks in July 2025, WLHS had the joy of hosting 45 students from around the globe at our English Excellence Summer Camp. Campers came from six countries—Brazil, China, Mexico, South Korea, Japan, and Germany—for an immersive 18-day experience focused on strengthening English skills and exploring American culture and education.
We’re especially excited to welcome two Brazilian campers from our previous 2024 camp as new, full-time students for the 2025-26 WLHS school year!
Once again, Mrs. Allison O’Donnell served as our outstanding camp director, skillfully coordinating the many moving pieces that make this program possible. Special thanks to Head Activity Leader McKenna Dietze ('19) and Dean of Residential Life Doug Carter for their vital roles in managing day-to-day camp operations.
We’re also incredibly grateful to our many WLHS teammates who helped bring this camp to life—shout-outs to WLHS staff Meg Schuessler ('97), Jason Nickels, Rachel Rosenberg, Gina Radue ('12), Lisa Uttech ('98), Abby Rasmussen ('12), our residential supervisory team, the Taher team, and so many more! A heartfelt thank you as well to the forty "Wisco Friends" who formed meaningful peer connections with our international campers—interacting with them daily, practicing English, and joining them on field trips and activities. It was truly a valuable and enriching experience for everyone involved!
