Hispanic Heritage Month Assembly - Music Unites Us

Wisco’s third annual Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, held on October 10, filled the auditorium with color, rhythm, and faith as students, staff, and guests came together to honor the beauty of Hispanic culture and unity in Christ under the theme Music Unites Us.

The program opened with a devotion by Prof. Micah Hernandez (‘01), who reminded students that while we celebrate our unique cultural identities, our true and lasting identity is found in Christ. He encouraged everyone to rejoice in the diversity of God’s family, united as one in faith and praise.
The assembly featured a vibrant showcase of performances highlighting the beauty and variety of Hispanic culture. Students shared original poems, performed lively cumbia and bachata dances, and our string orchestra accompanied a student vocalist on the Spanish-language song “Sigue Orando.” Special guest artists Jone Ruiz, a classical guitarist from Puerto Rico, and Carlos Adames, an acclaimed percussionist from Panama, also captivated the audience with live performances.

Throughout the program, student musicians, vocalists, and drummers brought the theme Music Unites Us to life—illustrating how music transcends boundaries and connects people from every background.

We want to thank students, teachers, parents, and volunteers who contributed to this meaningful celebration of culture, faith, and unity during Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15).
