On November 21, students from our Principles of Engineering (POE) class had the opportunity to represent WLHS at the Saint Lucas Grade School STEM Night—and what a blast it was! Our hands-on challenge invited grade-school students to build the tallest possible tower using only marshmallows and spaghetti. Creativity soared, teamwork flourished, and the competition was fierce.
Dozens of young engineers took on the challenge. After plenty of leaning structures, redesigned bases, and sticky fingers, one impressive tower rose above the rest to earn the title Engineer of the Day.
In true humble fashion, our Wisco students cheered the winner on… even while good-naturedly admitting defeat after their own structure collapsed spectacularly.
A special thank-you to Saint Lucas for hosting such a fun and engaging evening, and to our POE students for serving as outstanding ambassadors of our Project Lead The Way Engineering program. It’s inspiring to see the next generation of problem-solvers already hard at work!
