National School Counseling Week - February 2-6

At WLHS, we are incredibly grateful for our school counselors—Mrs. Chavez, Mrs. Jiles, and Mr. Schumacher—who walk alongside students and families every day. From academic planning and career guidance to personal support and encouragement, they play a vital role in helping our students grow, succeed, and feel supported.

National School Counseling Week shines a light on the powerful impact counselors have in schools across the country. This year’s theme, “School Counselors Amplify Student Success,” perfectly reflects the heart of our WLHS counseling team and the difference they make behind the scenes.
"At WLHS, our holistic counseling program is a vital component in shaping the next generation of productive Christian citizens. Our counselors are not only dedicated professionals, but the cornerstone of this impactful work. I’ve had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the profound influence they have on our students and families, offering guidance, support, and leadership every day. Their ability to nurture students academically, emotionally, and spiritually equips them to face life’s challenges with resilience and compassion. This program is truly a testament to the care and commitment we have for our students' future, and I’m continually inspired by the work they do in shaping lives and hearts for Christ."— Mr. Grey Davis, Director of Student Services

We thank our counselors for their dedication, compassion, and Christ-centered care for our students. If you see them this week, please join us in sharing a word of appreciation for all they do to help students thrive—academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
