Plautz/ViTech Investment Club Awards More than $30,000 in Grants
This year, more than 20 WLHS students served as Assistant Portfolio Managers through the Plautz/ViTech Investment Club, one of Wisco's many extracurriculars, gaining hands-on experience in investing, stock analysis, financial literacy, and Christian stewardship.
Following chapel on May 6, club members announced the 2025–26 Plautz/ViTech grant distributions, awarding more than $30,000 to support educational and extracurricular opportunities across campus.
Grants will fund projects in fine arts, science, athletics, robotics, student services, and alumni relations—including marching band uniforms, a ceramics kiln, medical “Stop the Bleed” kits, a golf simulator, iPads, track training equipment, and much more.
Under the guidance of Mr. Rick Eastman and Mrs. Sarah Proeber ('07), students spent the school year researching companies, learning stock market fundamentals, and discussing responsible and ethical investing practices.
The Lauretta Plautz Fund was established through a gift from Mr. Mark Plautz in memory of his wife, Lauretta, while the ViTech Fund was created by an anonymous donor in 2013. Together, these funds continue to provide students with meaningful real-world investing experience while directly benefiting our WLHS school.
The Plautz/ViTech Investment Club is open to juniors and seniors interested in investing, stewardship, and the study of individual stocks.
