Viking Christian Leaders: Faith

Congratulations to Joanne Lee (‘25) and Brody Ban (‘25) who were selected as Viking Christian Leaders for the month of May under “The Wisco Way Word": Faith. We thank God for the way Joanne and Brody have modeled servant leadership at school and in the community. Any student or staff member may nominate a student for the Viking Christian Leaders Award which is presented each month to one young man and one young woman.
Joanne is from Singapore. When she’s back home, she attends church at the Church of Singapore. Joanne attended West Spring Primary School and Dunearn Secondary School.

Joanne was nominated for the Viking Christian Leader award for courage to witness to the entire study body about her faith journey as a Christian growing up in Singapore, and how Wisco has helped her faith to grow.

Currently a senior at Wisco, Joanne has participated in Viking Steel, Compass, Global Leadership Team, Viking Christian Leaders Academy, forensics, art club, Wisco Witness in the World, Chick-fil-A Leader Academy, and crew support for the musical and fall play.

Joanne has volunteered by helping at the Chick-fil-A foster day at Wisco, and handing out care packages during the pandemic.

In her spare time, Joanne enjoys playing the piano, watching TV shows and hanging out with her friends.

After graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Joanne will attend The State University of New York (SUNY) for biomedical sciences, where she hopes to pursue a career in dentistry.

Joanne characterizes Christian leadership with faith as trusting in God even when things are unknown. Having trust in Jesus because he fulfills his promises. Faith is also the assurance of things hoped for.
