Surge in Engagement with Academic and Career Planning

Over the past few years, Wisconsin Lutheran High School (WLHS) has witnessed a remarkable rise in the number of students actively engaging in the Academic and Career Planning (ACP) process. More students than ever before are taking advantage of the Wisco career pathways, career-based learning experiences, and individualized/group counseling, equipping them with valuable skills and direction for life beyond graduation.
One of the most notable areas of growth has been student participation in WLHS’s capstone experiences. These opportunities, designed to provide hands-on learning and real-world applications, have surged in popularity. From internships and job shadowing to industry-specific coursework and mentorship programs, seniors are embracing these experiences to refine their career goals and enhance their readiness for post-secondary success.

“Our rising seniors are showing an increasing commitment to exploring their future careers while still in high school,” said Mr. Grey Davis, WLHS’s Director of Student Services. “The expansion of our career pathways and experiential learning options has allowed more students to discover their passions and develop professional skills before they graduate. We are so proud of the career readiness our families are taking part in as they close out their final year on campus."

WLHS has worked diligently to provide robust ACP resources, ensuring that each student receives personalized guidance in their journey. The career pathways initiative offers structured course sequences in various fields, allowing students to tailor their education to align with their interests. Meanwhile, career-based learning experiences, such as job site visits and industry partnerships, have further strengthened the connection between classroom learning and real-world application.

The increase in student participation underscores the effectiveness of WLHS’s commitment to preparing graduates for life beyond high school. As more students engage in the ACP process, they are stepping into their futures with a clearer sense of direction and purpose. Wisconsin Lutheran High School remains dedicated to fostering these essential learning experiences, ensuring that every student leaves with the tools needed for success in their chosen careers and further education.
