Vikings Fall to Lions in Extra Innings

The Wisco softball team stayed in it until the end, but Eisenhower pulled away late in a 10-7 victory on Thursday. The game was tied at seven with Eisenhower batting in the top of the ninth when Taylor Prei singled on a 0-1 count, scoring the go-ahead run.
Sam Thompson drove in four runners in the loss. She batted in runs on a double in the sixth and came up clutch in the seventh, when she doubled home two runs to help the Vikings claw back from a 7-4 deficit to send the game to extra frames.

The visiting Lions scored five runs in the seventh inning. Eisenhower's big inning was driven by singles by Molly Beacom and Prei and a groundout by Erica Buechel.

Prei earned the win for Eisenhower. She allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one.

Maggie Johnston collected an RBI at the plate but took the loss on the mound for Wisco. She went nine innings, allowing ten runs on 15 hits and striking out five.

Anna Lang started the game for Eisenhower. She lasted seven innings, allowing 14 hits and seven runs while striking out five and walking one.

Wisco saw the ball well, racking up 15 hits in the game. Leah Pinnow, Reagan Derouin, and Thompson all managed multiple hits for the Vikings. Pinnow led the team with four hits in four at bats.

Eisenhower collected 15 hits on the day. Beacom, Emily Barnes, Megan Loewus, Prei, and Emma Hluchnik each collected multiple hits for the Lions. Eisenhower was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Kelly Beres had the most chances in the field with seven.
