Baseball Knocks Off #5 Greendale
The Viking baseball team pulled to within one game of first place in the Woodland West with a 6-0 shutout of conference-leading Greendale. Gavin Vrana allowed just two hits across six innings pitched to pace the squad.

A four-run third inning gave Vrana all the support he would need. Singles from Carter Raabe, Elliot Imberger, and Elijah Henning loaded the bases with one out. Raabe scored on a wild pitch, Caleb Bilitz drove in Imberger with a single, Vrana helped his own cause with an RBI single to score Henning, and after Bilitz stole third, Kyle Ristow brought him home with a sac fly to right. In the sixth, Raabe drove home two more runs with a single to cap the scoring.
Vrana earned the win on the mound with six shutout innings. He struck out three. Jack Olson threw a scoreless seventh inning to finish the Panthers off.
