Vikings Top Pewaukee

A strong effort on both sides of the ball pushed the Vikings to a 66-58 win over visiting Pewaukee on Tuesday night. The victory sets up a battle for first place in the Woodland West with New Berlin Eisenhower at WLHS on Friday night.

Wisco led by eight at the break on the strength of 12 first-half points from Tyrese England. A strong start to the second half saw them stretch their advantage to as many as 17 points, but the Pirates battled back and trimmed the lead to two points in the waning minutes. A key three-point play from Jonah Rindfleisch gave the Vikings some breathing room and they made enough free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.

England led the team with 16 points and three steals. Isaiah Hopf added 12 points and Prentice Young was a perfect in six tries from the charity stripe on his way to eight points. Rindfleisch recorded his third straight double-double and fifth in six games with 10 points and 12 rebounds; he also added a career-high six blocks.
