Vikings Boast Two Individual Champs at Woodland Tournament

The Viking wrestling team placed five individuals in the top three of their respective weight classes en route to a fourth place finish at the 10-team Woodland Conference Tournament on Wednesday night. David Carson claimed the individual title in the 113 weight class. In doing so, he became the first Wisco wrestler to win three individual conference championships since the school joined the Woodland Conference in 2018-2019. Joining Carson atop the podium was Alex Sutter, who was the champion of the 195-pound weight class. Other placers for the Vikings included Ben Haakenson (160) and Amos Weide (220), who both took second. Nathan Weber (145) place third. The team is set to compete at the WIAA Regional Championship on January 30. Competition begins at 9:30 AM at Wauwatosa West.
