Vikings Cruise in Crossover

The Wisco basketball team closed out the regular season with a 71-51 victory at Brown Deer in a Woodland Conference crossover game. The Vikings' defense held the Falcons to 33% shooting, blocked 10 shots, forced 17 turnovers, and won the battle of the boards 47-35. The team paired that with a strong start on offense, knocking down 10 of their first 15 shots from the field to jump out to an early 24-11 lead. The Vikings were not threatened after that.

Prentice Young and Kon Knueppel paced the team with a pair of strong efforts and solid stat lines. Young led all scorers with 22 points and added seven rebounds and a team-high five assists. Knueppel connected five times from behind the arc en route to 21 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots. Jamiir Allen scored 10 points--the fifth time he has hit double figures off the bench--and Jonah Rindfleisch grabbed at least 10 rebounds for the fifth time in six games. He pulled down 10 boards to go along with eight points and five blocked shots. More stats are available here.

The Vikings have a bye through the regional quarterfinal round and will host either Milwaukee Lutheran or Shorewood in a regional semifinal on Friday, February 19.
