Softball Falls in Season Opener
The Wisco softball team traveled to South Milwaukee for the 2021 season opener. They were defeated 7-1 by the host Rockets on a frigid afternoon.
Defense made the difference in this one. The Vikings made good contact and had the ball in play quite often, but the South Milwaukee defense was able to take care of business and limit the visitors to one run. Melissa Tonn struck out 5 in her first outing of the season, but the Wisco defense committed 7 errors, which allowed the Rockets to break through with 7 runs.
The Vikings will get back at it on April 28 when they host Pewaukee at Rainbow Park. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 PM.
