Two Records Fall in Season's First Meet

The girls track and field team opened the season at Franklin on Tuesday night. The Vikings won 5 of the 18 varsity events, led by Jaiah Hopf, who established two new outdoor school records in the first meet of the year. Hopf broke her own school record in winning the triple jump with an effort of 39 feet, 10.5 inches, and followed that up with a record-setting leap of 18-11.5 in the long jump, besting the mark of 18-6 set by Trinity Moore in 2019.

Other event winners included Eva Kuehn in the 1600, Reagan Godager in the high jump, and Malia Lee in the shot put. The team finished in 3rd place with 113.5 points.

Full results are available here. The ladies host the Pre-Prom Party at WLHS on Friday, April 30.
