Softball Smacks Pirates

The Wisco offense showed up in a big way on Wednesday afternoon, as the Vikings defeated conference foe Pewaukee 17-7 in 6 innings to earn their first victory of the year.

The host Vikings smacked 21 hits on the day, highlighted by a team-high 4 hits from Katie Meyer. Eden Rader struck the big blow with a three-run home run - part of her team-leading 5 RBI in the game - which Meyer followed up with a solo shot to help stake Wisco to a lead they would not relinquish.

Melissa Tonn picked up the victory on the mound. She struck out 8 in a complete-game effort.

The Vikings take on Pius XI on Friday afternoon at Kulwicki Park.
