Late Baseball Rally Comes up Just Short

The Viking baseball team put together a final-inning rally, but it wasn't enough to overcome a five-run deficit, and the team fell to Pewaukee, 5-3, at The Rock on Thursday afternoon.

The Pirates pushed across three runs in the 1st inning, then tallied single runs in the 2nd and 3rd to take a 5-0 lead. Wisco was held scoreless until the 7th. Justin Pontow singled in Lucas Oswald with the team's first run, while a two-out error helped two more runs to score and brought the tying run to the plate. But Eddie Rynders' line drive was snared by the right fielder, and the Vikings went down to defeat.

The team takes on Marquette at MSOE Raiders Stadium on Friday, May 7. First pitch is set for 8:00 PM.
