Tonn, Buch Fire Combined No-Hitter

After dropping the first two games of the week, the Wisco softball team bounced back in a big way on Wednesday afternoon, with Melissa Tonn and Emily Buch combining to no-hit Cudahy in an 8-2 win at Rainbow Park.

Tonn set the Packers down in order for first two innings, striking out a pair and departing with a 6-0 lead. Buch took over in the circle after that and recorded all but three of her outs via strikeout, finishing with a career-high 12 Ks in five innings of work. Cudahy scored two runs in the 6th on a bases-loaded walk and an error, but Buch worked a 1-2-3 7th inning, getting the last batter on a grounder back to the circle to seal the no-hitter.

On the offensive side, Eden Rader went 3-4 at the plate with a triple and 3 RBI to pace the team. Katie Meyer and Tonn also drove in runs and the Vikings took advantage of four Cudahy errors to plate three more.

The Vikings have a few days off before returning to action in June. They host Greendale at Rainbow Park on Tuesday, June 1.
