Hopf's Titles Highlight 10th Place Finish for Girls Track

Jaiah Hopf successfully defended her two state titles in the long jump and triple jump as the girls track & field team capped a strong season with a 10th place finish in Division 1 at the WIAA State Championship in La Crosse.

Hopf won both the long and triple jump in Division 2 as a freshman in 2019. The junior demonstrated that a year off due to COVID-19 and a move up to Division 1 were no trouble at all. Though the driving rain prevented her from hitting her best marks of the season, her efforts of 19-1 in the long jump and 38-4 in the triple jump placed her a foot farther than her nearest competitor in each event. She claimed the 6th and 7th event titles in program history and her 3rd and 4th titles individually.

Eva Kuehn's closing kick earned her 7th place in a strong 1600 field. Her time of 5:06.68 is a freshman record and ranks #2 in school history. She returned later in the day and took 17th place in the 3200.

Elsewhere, Allie Orlowski tied for 11th in the pole vault, seniors Malia Lee and Deanna Campbell capped their careers with 16th place finishes in the shot put and 100, respectively, and the 4x200 team of Campbell, Hopf, Myla Ellis, and Koto Imahori placed 12th.
