The Viking football team fought hard at third-ranked Greendale on Friday night but came up just short, falling to the Panthers 28-20.
Greendale led 14-0 after the first quarter. Wisco narrowed the gap to 14-7 before a long passing TD gave the Panthers a 21-7 edge at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Vikings took advantage of a muffed punt to score on the short field and cut the lead to 21-14. Greendale would answer with a score of their own before Wisco went on a late drive. They scored with 1:30 remaining to pull to within 28-20. But the hosts recovered the onside kick and were able to kneel out the clock.
