Vikings Bounce Back, Top Lasers

The Wisco basketball team rebounded from its first defeat of the year with a 74-59 win over Kettle Moraine in the final game of the 2021 Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook Shootout at Concordia University. The Vikings shot 55% and nearly doubled up the Lasers on the boards in the victory.

A pair of juniors powered the Vikings in their final game of 2021. Landon Key helped Wisco fight through a sloppy opening frame by scoring 11 of his career-high 16 points before halftime. In the second half, it was Jamiir Allen's turn to shine; 12 of his career-high 18 points came after the break. Sophomore Kon Knueppel contributed throughout, scoring 11 points, grabbing nine rebounds--part of a 35-18 Wisco advantage on the glass--and handing out five assists.

Allen and Knueppel each came up with three steals, as several transition baskets helped the team pull away. Key handed out three assists and Allen added two. More stats are available here.

The Vikings' first game of 2022 comes on Tuesday, January 4, when they travel to Pewaukee.
