Vikings Shoot Down Rockets

The Wisco basketball squad improved to 12-1 on the season with an 85-46 win at South Milwaukee in a Woodland Conference crossover matchup on Thursday night. The Vikings shot 57% and connected on 13 three-pointers in the victory.

Josh Knueppel paced the team with a career-high 29 points, including a 9-14 performance from behind the arc. He scored eight of those in the game's opening minutes to help stake Wisco to a big early lead. The Viking scored the game's first 16 points and held the Rockets scoreless for the game's first seven minutes. Jamiir Allen's steal and score just before the halftime buzzer sent Wisco into the locker room up 41-15, and the team coasted in from there.

Joining Knueppel in double figures was Allen (13 points, 5 rebounds) and Logan Rindfleisch (11 points). Prentice Young scored all eight of his points in the first half and added four assists, and MJ Townsend led the team in assists for the second straight game with five, as the Vikings handed out 23 assists on the night, just two off of their season high.

More stats are available here. The Vikings travel to Minnesota for the WBY Border Battle on Saturday. They will face Minnehaha Academy at Minneapolis North High School in a 5:30 PM game.
