Defense Powers Win Over Eisenhower

The Viking basketball team overpowered visiting New Berlin Eisenhower on Tuesday night, defeating the Lions by a score of 86-49. The defense forced 24 turnovers and held Eisenhower to 38% shooting.

A 16-4 run early in the first half broke the game open. Wisco led at halftime by a score of 52-23. Kon Knueppel scored all 13 of his points in the first half; he finished with a line that included four rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Prentice Young scored a season-high 15 points to go along with five assists and three steals. Josh Knueppel matched him with 15 points on 5-10 shooting from behind the arc. And Jamiir Allen scored in double figures for the 10th consecutive game; he finished with 11 points, seven rebounds, and four steals. 

Wisco shot 12-23 from deep and 10-13 from the free throw line. They also outrebounded the Lions 32-24. More stats are available here. The Vikings travel to New Berlin West on Friday, January 28.
