Vikings Suffer First Conference Loss

The Viking basketball team suffered its first conference lost of the season on Friday night, falling to #2 Pewaukee by a score of 84-59. The visiting Pirates blistered the nets to the tune of 57% from the field and 12-18 from the three-point line.

A 13-0 run put Pewaukee out in front 17-6 in the early going. Wisco narrowed the lead to 29-24 after a three-pointer from Jamiir Allen. But back-to-back treys from the Pirates started a run that gave them some breathing room. Jordan Glenn connected on a 30-footer at the buzzer, but it only brought the Vikings to within 11 points at 47-36. Pewaukee continued its hot shooting in the second half, and Wisco was not able to keep pace. The Vikings shot just 35% over the first 14 minutes of the second half and a four-and-a-half minute scoring drought removed any doubt about the outcome.

Glenn led the team with 19 points. Kon Knueppel scored 13, grabbed seven rebounds, and blocked a pair of shots. Allen finished with 12 points and a team-high three assists.
