Viking Shut Out Central
The Wisco softball team improved to 2-0 on the young season with a 10-0, 6-inning victory over West Allis Central on Wednesday afternoon.
Sofia Schroeder hurled a shutout, holding the Bulldogs to a pair of hits while walking just one and striking out seven. Sydney Vitangcol gave her all the offense she would need in the bottom of the 1st, when she singled in Emily Buch with the game's first run. The Vikings had plenty more offense to go around, however. Buch went 3-3 at the plate with a pair of walks, three runs scored, and four RBI, including a home run in the 5th inning and a two-run single to end the game in the 6th. Vitangcol drove in three runs while going 2-4, Chloe Koschnitzke was a perfect 3-3 on the day, and Maddie Cowell drove in two runs on two hits in three plate appearances. Wisco banged out 13 hits and drew 7 walks on the day.
The flurry of action continues for the Vikings. They will play their third game in as many days when they travel to Pewaukee on Friday for a 4:30 PM contest.
