Viking Christian Leaders: Truth
Congratulations to Dakyis Davis ('23) and Sylvia Delwiche ('23), who were selected as Viking Christian Leaders for the month of October under “The Wisco Way Word": Truth. We thank God for the way Dakyis and Sylvia have modeled servant leadership at school and in the community. Any student or staff member may nominate a student for the Viking Christian Leaders Award which is presented each month to one young man and one young woman.
Dakyis is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and he is a member at Ephesians Missionary Baptist Church. He attended grade school at Wedgewood IB Middle School.
Currently a senior at Wisco, Dakyis has participated in Student Council, WWW, and NHS.
Dakyis is involved at his church by volunteering as an usher and attending Bible study.
In his spare time, Dakyis enjoys traveling, shopping, going to concerts, and spending time with friends.
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Dakyis is planning to attend college in Florida and major in mechanical engineering or business administration.
Dakyis characterizes truth in Christian leadership as being honest with himself and following Jesus’ example by being honest toward others.
Sylvia is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is a member at St. Lucas in Bay View, where she also attended grade school.
Currently a senior at Wisco, Sylvia has participated in Cross Country, Band, WWW, VCLA, the Plautz Fund, and NHS. She has served as a mentor to an international student, on the WWW Leadership Team, and on the Global Leadership Team. She also went on a mission trip to Puerto Rico.
Sylvia is involved at her church by leading VBS. She has also volunteered at the food pantry and at Camp Phillip.
In her spare time, Sylvia enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outside, trying new foods, and sometimes running.
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Sylvia plans to go to school for international relations.
Sylvia characterizes truth in Christian leadership as leading with a heart set on doing what is right and using God’s love to keep those around her on the right path as well.
