Viking Christian Leaders: Integrity

Congratulations to Mason Marrari ('24) and Sydney Vitangcol ('25), who were selected as Viking Christian Leaders for the month of February under “The Wisco Way Word": Integrity. We thank God for the way Mason and Sydney have modeled servant leadership at school and in the community. Any student or staff member may nominate a student for the Viking Christian Leaders Award which is presented each month to one young man and one young woman.
Mason is from New Berlin, Wisconsin. He attends church at Star of Bethlehem in New Berlin, where he also went to grade school.

A senior at Wisco, Mason has participated in Math Track, WWW, Student Council, and VCLA. He also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Pilot student newspaper, the co-leader of the Film Club, and the Secretary of NHS.

Mason has volunteered at Star of Bethlehem by ushering, changing the church banners, and operating the A/V board.

In his spare time, Mason enjoys creating videos, watching movies, reading, writing, and exploring nature.

After graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Mason will attend Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, where he plans to major in Film & Creative Media, and possibly minor in Creative Writing.

Mason characterizes integrity in Christian leadership as grafting yourself to what’s right; as long as you do this – whether by yourself or with others – you will stay on God’s path.

Sydney is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attends church at St. John’s in Wauwatosa, where she also went to grade school.

A junior at Wisco, Sydney has participated in Varsity Softball, Student Council, WWW, Hope Squad, Math Track, and VCLA. She has also attended the Civil Rights Tour last year and plans to go on a mission trip to the Philippines this summer.

Sydney has been involved at St. John’s, Tosa by participating in the teen group, playing piano, and volunteering in the Early Childhood Center.

In her spare time, Sydney enjoys playing softball, hanging out with friends, family, and her boyfriend Noah, working out, going to Chick-fil-A, playing games, and doing puzzles.

After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Sydney plans to attend UW-Madison to play softball and study Early Childhood Education, as she hopes to become a teacher.

Sydney characterizes integrity in Christian leadership as showing kindness and respect to all, serving others, and showing love, even when no one is watching.
