Two Divine Calls Extended; One Received

On Wednesday, January 18, Wisconsin Lutheran High School's Board of Directors met and discussed upcoming faculty needs. Lists were prepared by the Commission on Lutheran Schools and approved by the District President. Voting took place to call new teachers for Science and Fine Arts.  
 
The board extended Divine Calls to Mr. Jeremiah Schmiege for Chemistry and Mr. Casey Pufahl for Fine Arts.
Mr. Casey Pufahl is a 2001 MLC graduate who has served his entire ministry at St. Croix Lutheran High School in Minneapolis, Minn. He has a Masters of Arts in Education from Hamline University. He is the Fine Arts Department Chair and choral director at St. Croix. In the past, he was also their band director. He is married with 2 children. His wife, Laura, is also an accomplished musician and teaches 3-4 grade at Good Shepherd in Burnsville, Minn.
 
Mr. Jeremiah Schmiege is a 2007 graduate of MLC and has a Masters of Arts in Education in Science Instruction from WLC. He is a teacher at and the principal of Sola Fide Lutheran School in Lawrenceville, Ga. where he lives with his wife, Gretchen, and three children. His grandfather, Luther Spaude, once taught at WLHS from 1958-1979 (his mother is also a '69 WLHS alum).

On January 22, Siloah Lutheran Church (Milwaukee) extended a call to President Ken Fisher to serve as their pastor.

Please keep Mr. Pufahl, Mr. Schmiege, and President Fisher in your prayers as they deliberate their calls.
