Comeback Win Seals Sweep of West

The boys' basketball team overcame an eight-point halftime deficit and a one-point deficit with under a minute to play to defeat New Berlin West, 66-63 on the road, capping a season sweep of their Woodland Conference foe.
A 14-2 run out of the locker room put Wisco on top 43-39 within the first three minutes of the second half. They fought back and forth with West but trailed 61-60 with less than a minute to play. A steal by Quincy Minor led to a James Ringo layup and a 62-61 lead. After a foul, two free throws by the hosts put them back on top with 35 seconds left. Brunard Williams was fouled with 20 seconds left and converted both ends of a one-and-one to put Wisco on top 64-63. After the Viking defense forced a missed shot on the other end, Williams corraled the rebounds, sank two more free throws to put Wisco up 3 with just 2.8 seconds left, and then stole West's inbounds pass to seal the victory.

Williams finished with 25 points and 7 rebounds. Minor added 14 points and 3 assists. More stats are available here.

The Vikings travel to Brown Deer for their second Woodland Conference crossover game next Friday.
