Softball Downs Central in Season Opener

Leah Pinnow collected four hits in five at bats, as the Lady Vikings sofball team defeated West Allis Central 13-7 on Thursday.  Pinnow doubled in the first, singled in the third, singled in the third, and singled in the sixth.
Wisco collected seven hits and West Allis Central HS had 11 in the high-scoring affair.

The Vikings got things moving in the first inning, when Pinnow doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

The team broke things open two innings later, as they tallied six runs in the third inning.  Batters contributing to the big inning included Faith Loberg, Reagan Derouin, Alyssa Kieselhorst, Pinnow, and Sam Thompson, all driving in runs in the frame.

Maggie Johnston earned the win for the Lady Vikings. She allowed five hits and two runs over four innings, striking out two and walking one.  Melissa Tonn threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jo Kassa took the loss for West Allis Central. She allowed seven hits and 14 runs over six innings, striking out five.

Pinnow went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Wisco in hits.

Central saw the ball well, racking up 11 hits in the game.  Arianna Brunner, Hailey Schultz, Rayne Hubbard, and Kassa all collected multiple hits for the Bulldogs.
