Viking Christian Leaders: Humility

Congratulations to Valerie Kane ('22) and Joseph Mastopietro ('21), who were selected as Viking Christian Leaders for the month of March under “The Wisco Way Word": Humility. We thank God for the way Valerie and Joseph have modeled servant leadership at school and in the community. Any student or staff member may nominate a student for the Viking Christian Leadership Award which is presented each month to one young man and one young woman.
Congratulations to Viking Christian Leaders for March, Valerie Kane and Joseph Mastopietro.
 
Valerie Kane is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and attended grade school at St. Jacobi in Greenfield, where she is also a member.
 
Currently a Junior at Wisco, Valerie has participated in drama club, the Fall Drama, forensics, book club, American Mentor Program, Student Council, Viking Christian Leadership Academy, and the Global Leadership Team.

She has volunteered at Junior’s Pups N Stuff by walking dogs, and she babysits for parents taking Bible class at her church.
 
In her spare time, Valerie enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and walking dogs.
 
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Valerie plans to attend either Carroll University for animal behavior or dog training or Martin Luther College to become a preschool teacher.
 
Valerie characterizes humility in Christian leadership as serving others as Christ did.

Joseph Mastopietro is from Brookfield, Wisconsin. He is a member at Good Shepherd's Lutheran in West Allis, where he also attended grade school.
 
Currently a senior at Wisco, Joseph has participated in bowling, Inspiration, Viking Steel Band, Viking Christian Leadership Academy, Wisco Witnesses in the World, and National Honor Society.

Joseph has volunteered at his church by playing instruments to accompany the choir.
In his spare time, Joseph enjoys music and bowling.
 
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Joseph plans to major in Music Education at Wisconsin Lutheran College.
 
Joseph characterizes humility in Christian leadership as doing everything for others out of thanks to God for all he does for us.
