Viking Christian Leaders: Love

Congratulations to Ify Uwajeh ('22) and Drew Wempner ('22) who were selected as Viking Christian Leaders for the month of August under “The Wisco Way Word": Love. We thank God for the way Ify and Drew have modeled servant leadership at school and in the community. Any student or staff member may nominate a student for the Viking Christian Leadership Award which is presented each month to one young man and one young woman.
Ify Uwajeh is from Lagos, Nigeria, where she is a member at Trinity House Church. She attended grade school at Atlantic Hall School in Nigeria.
 
Currently a senior at Wisco, Ify is one of our international students and has participated in A Cappella, Drama Club, WWW, NHS, Student Council, Girls United, VCLA, and the Pilot. She is also on the Global Leadership Team.

Ify participates in her church by being a part of Bible Study, helps with a clothing drive, and helps with Kids Choir.
 
In her spare time, Ify enjoys reading, listening to music, hanging out with friends, and watching movies.
 
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Ify plans to major in either law or psychology.
 
Ify characterizes love in Christian leadership as always seeing the good in a person or situation, no matter if the situation is good or bad.

Drew Wempner is from West Allis, Wisconsin, where he is a member at Good Shepherd’s Lutheran. He attended grade school at King of Kings Lutheran School in Garden Grove, California.
 
Currently a senior at Wisco, Drew has participated in basketball, golf, and the National Honor Society.
Drew has volunteered at his church by serving as an usher, helping with event set-up, and cleaning.
 
In his spare time, Drew enjoys playing basketball and volleyball, as well as spending time outdoors.
 
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Drew plans to attend Wisconsin Lutheran College.
 
Drew characterizes love in Christian leadership as loving other people just as Christ loved us.
