International Education Week Festivities
Every November the U.S. Departments of State and Education observes International Education Week. The aim: “prepare Americans for a global environment [and] attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences.” During November 15-19, students and our international student staff organized a variety of celebratory activities.
On Monday, students were invited to an International Tea Party where hot and cold teas were served and international students gave presentations about their native countries and customs. On Tuesday, there was an International Dress Up Day. All students and staff were encouraged to get decked out in a way that highlights our global diversity at Wisco. There were even prizes for best-dressed student and best-dressed staff member! Wednesday and Thursday, a World Language Table was set up in the upper lobby. Students who speak languages other than English taught their languages to interested students, faculty, and staff.
Also, each day in chapel a native speaker from a different country read our Scripture lesson in his language and were complemented by soloists who lead songs the same way.

This year we have 59 international students enrolled from 19 countries, and they bring over 20 different dialects to our building. Our school is blessed by their presence and their international influence.
