Post High School Planning Night - Wednesday, September 17

All students and parents are invited to the WLHS Post High School Planning Night on Wednesday, September 17, from 5:30-8:00 p.m. This event prepares students and their families for life after high school, which includes options like college, trade school, apprenticeships, and other career paths. Information and guidance will be given regarding academic and careers plans, researching institutions, understanding financial aid, completing FAFSA applications, and creating a personalized plan. The schedule of the evening includes:
Junior and Sophomore families are strongly encouraged to attend these sessions: (Freshman families may attend as well)
  • 6:00-6:30 p.m: Academic and Career Plan presentation for sophomore and junior families in the auditorium
  • 6:00-8:00 p.m: College Fair in the auxiliary gym. Meet representatives from a variety of colleges and universities, including trade and tech schools, two- and four-year institutions, military academies, and fire and police training programs.

Senior families are strongly encouraged to attend these sessions:
  • 5:30 p.m: HBCU (Historically Black College or University) Presentation in the atrium
  • 6:00-6:30 p.m: College application process for seniors and parents in the atrium
  • 6:30-7:00 p.m: Financial Aid and FAFSA Presentation for seniors and parents in the atrium (also available via recording after event)
  • 6:00-8:00 p.m: College Fair in the auxiliary gym. Meet representatives from a variety of colleges and universities, including trade and tech schools, two- and four-year institutions, military academies, and fire and police training programs.
