Congratulations to Jonas Doerr (’20) who has advanced to National Merit Finalist standing. Jonas entered the National Merit Scholarship Competition his junior year with over 1.5 million other students.
On the strength of his Selection Index qualifying score in critical reading, math, and writing, Jonas advanced to the next round of 50,000 applicants. This past fall, Jonas’ qualifying score moved him to semifinalist status, granted to just 16,000. To compete as a Finalist, Jonas submitted his SAT scores, his high school transcript, extra-curricular and volunteer activities, and a self-descriptive essay. We praise God that Jonas is now one of the 15,000 Finalists who will receive a Merit Scholarship Award and is eligible for one of the National Merit Scholarships. Well done, Jonas!
