On February 7, Wisco’s Rock Climbing Team made history at the Milwaukee Rock Climbing Competition. For the first time in state history, Wisco earned 1st place overall out of 37 schools — competing with just 16 climbers. This historic finish reflects the dedication, perseverance, and teamwork of our athletes.
Special congratulations to our top finishers:
first place winners Morgan Schachtschneider ('28), Ruth Redfield ('28), Abigail Daley ('27), and Evan Meister ('29); second place finishers Mina Schaffer ('27), Ella Bollmeier ('26), and Caden Schaffer; ('27) and third place finisher Talia Meister ('26). Many other climbers placed near the top of their divisions and contributed crucial points toward the team victory. We are incredibly proud of this group and the way they represent Wisco.
Beyond the podium, the Rock Climbing Team continues to build strength, resilience, confidence, and teamwork while encouraging one another both on and off the wall. Students who are curious about joining are encouraged to speak with team advisor Ms. Rachel Rosenberg. She is happy to offer a free pass to a practice so students can try it out — no prior climbing experience required.
