WLC Summer Science Camps

WLC is hosting four distinct Summer Science Camps designed to give students in grades 6–12 real-world experience in professional lab settings. Students interested in healthcare, forensic investigation, or the chemistry of food, will get expert-led discovery that goes well beyond the standard classroom curriculum.
Evidence Academy: Forensic Investigation and Discovery
July 13-15, 2026
  • Expert-led sessions on crime scene mapping, fingerprinting, skeletal anatomy, and more!
  • Hands-on experience mapping, collecting, analyzing, and investigating evidence.
This camp is open to students currently in 9th-12th grades (as of spring 2026).

Micro Detectives: Every Microbe Tells a Story
July 13-17, 2026
  • Expert-led lessons on mastering microbiology lab techniques.
  • Hands-on experience solving an epidemiology case, making microbe art, and fermenting food products.
  • Field trips to the public health department and a local fermentation facility.
This camp is open to students currently in 8th-11th grades (as of spring 2026).

Pathways to Care: A Camp for the Next Generation of Healthcare Professionals
July 20-22, 2026
  • Expert-led sessions on healthcare professions from nursing to athletic training to dentistry.
  • Time to connect with local healthcare professionals for shadowing or mentorship opportunities.
  • Hands-on experience learning first-aid skills, crafting nutritious snacks, and performing dissections.
  • Field trips to healthcare-related professional schools and employers.
This camp is open to students currently in 6th-9th grades (as of spring 2026).

Edible Experiments: Exploring the Science Behind Every Bite
July 20-24, 2026
  • Expert-led sessions on food safety, chemistry, fermentation, processing, and more!
  • Hands-on experience making fermented foods, designing sensory experiments, and crafting a perfect texture.
  • Field trips to local food processing and fermentation facilities.
This camp is open to students currently in 8th-11th grades (as of spring 2026).
