A Cappella Choir Works with Guest Clinician
Recently the WLHS A Cappella Choir had the privilege of working with guest clinician Mr. Jon Laabs, Artistic Director of the Bel Canto Chorus of Milwaukee. During the rehearsal, Mr. Laabs coached students on Brahms’ How Lovely Is Thy Dwelling Place, which audiences will hear at the upcoming Spring Sacred Choral Concert on March 22 at 3:00 p.m.
Mr. Laabs brings a wealth of experience, having previously served as a Professor of Music at Martin Luther College and as a choir director at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School. In addition to leading Bel Canto, he also serves as the Artistic Director of the Sheboygan Symphony Chorus and Canticum Novum, a WELS chamber choir.
A special connection: WLHS directors Mrs. Uttech, Mr. Petersen, Mr. Hafenstein, and Mrs. Hafenstein have all sung with Canticum Novum over the years.
