Wisco spring athletics enjoyed another outstanding season, highlighted by conference championships, individual honors, state qualifiers, and record-breaking performances. From the baseball diamond and softball field to the golf course, soccer pitch, and track, Viking student-athletes represented WLHS with excellence and sportsmanship.
Boys Baseball The Vikings finished the season with a 20-7 overall record and a 12-2 conference mark, earning a share of the Woodland West Conference Championship and advancing to the WIAA Sectional Final. Cooper Sievert ('27) was named Woodland West Player of the Year, District Player of the Year, and WBCA Third Team All-State.
Girls Softball The softball team continued its dominance with a 20-5 record and a perfect 14-0 conference season, capturing its second consecutive undefeated conference championship and fifth straight conference title. The Vikings advanced to the sectional semifinals and earned numerous postseason honors.
Boys Golf The golf team captured its second consecutive Woodland West Conference Championship, securing the title on the final hole of the final conference meet. The Vikings placed second at regionals and fifth at sectionals. Rudy Kehoe ('27) qualified individually for the WIAA State Tournament, becoming the first Wisco golfer to advance to state since 2000.
Girls Soccer The Lady Vikings concluded their season with a hard-fought loss to Catholic Memorial in the regional championship game. The program earned a playoff victory for the second consecutive season and was led by a senior class that provided strong leadership both on and off the field.
Girls Track & Field The girls track and field team continued its tradition of excellence, earning the Woodland West Triple Crown by winning the conference indoor, relay, and outdoor championships. The Vikings also captured four invitational titles during the regular season. At the WIAA State Championships, Reina Ebeling ('28) earned team points with 7th-place finishes in both the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs.
Boys Track & Field The boys track and field team captured the Woodland West Triple Crown for another season, winning the conference indoor, relay, and outdoor championships. Coaches Eric Lueck ('87) and Brian Gottschalk ('96) were named Conference Coaches of the Year, while Niyer Clayborn ('27) earned Co-Conference Track Athlete of the Year honors. The Vikings also won the Wisconsin Indoor State Championship team title, highlighted by Niyer Clayborn's state championship and state-record performance in the 60-meter hurdles. At the WIAA State Championships, Clayborn set a new state meet record in the 110-meter hurdles, Cedric Bolden ('28) finished runner-up in the same event, and the 4x200 relay team advanced to the state finals. Additional state medalists included Nico Carter ('27) (7th, 800 meters) and John Gehl ('26) (6th, pole vault).
