Homecoming Week Activities & Dress-up Days September 28-October 3
WLHS Homecoming Week is Monday, September 28–Saturday, October 3, with this year’s theme Rio. Students can look forward to dress-up days, class competitions, special events, and plenty of Viking spirit throughout the week.
Monday, September 28
- Pajama Day
- Powderpuff Football — 7:00 p.m. at Zeitler Stadium
- Junior and senior girls will face off in the annual flag football game. Tickets are $2.
Tuesday, September 29
- Birds of a Feather Day — Dress alike, match, or coordinate with a friend or group.
Wednesday, September 30
- Tropical Tourist Day
- Boys Soccer JV game vs St. Augustine Preparatory at Zeitler Stadium at 4:30 p.m.
- Hispanic Heritage Month World Cup Night — 5:30–6:30 p.m. in the parking lot
- Bring a lawn chair, enjoy a mariachi band and food truck, and wear your favorite soccer jersey before cheering on the boys varsity soccer team at 6:30 p.m. À la carte food purchases will be available; there is no entry fee.
- Boys Soccer Varsity at 6:30 p.m. vs St. Augustine Preparatory at Zeitler Stadium at 6:30 p.m.
Thursday, October 1
- Rhyme Without Reason Day — Partner up in costumes that rhyme but have no connection, such as “Ref and Chef” or “Traffic Cone and Microphone.”
- Mr. Wisco — 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium
- Senior guys will compete in a variety of entertaining challenges for the title of Mr. Wisco. Tickets are $2 for regular seating and $5 for VIP seating.
Friday, October 2
- Spirit Day — Freshmen wear red, sophomores wear white, juniors wear blue, and seniors wear red, white, and blue.
- Senior Roshambeau Competition — Senior boys will challenge senior girls throughout the day in Rock, Paper, Scissors, with the top two competitors facing off during the pep rally.
- Pep Rally — 2:18–3:00 p.m. in the Main Gym
Saturday, October 3
- Homecoming Dance — 7:00–10:00 p.m.
Tickets are $14 and will be sold through Bound from Monday, September 28, at 7:00 a.m. through Friday, October 2, at 7:00 p.m. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Only seniors may bring a registered guest. - Students attending the dance must follow the semi-formal dress expectations. Blue jeans, ragged, torn, or tattered clothing, headgear, and sunglasses are not permitted unless distributed by the dance committee. Students who do not meet the dress expectations may be denied entry.
