Rio Homecoming 2026: A Week to Remember
WLHS celebrated a spirited and memorable “Rio” Homecoming Week filled with school pride, friendly competition, and plenty of Viking energy. Students and faculty embraced the themed dress-up days throughout the week, with the senior class earning top honors for the highest participation rate. Seniors also came out on top in the annual Powderpuff game, while Dominic Scott earned the title of Mr. Wisco.
The excitement continued at Friday’s pep rally, where Faith Balza was crowned 2026 Homecoming Queen. That evening, the varsity football team delivered a thrilling finish, defeating state-ranked Homestead High School 36–35 in overtime. Homecoming festivities concluded Saturday night with the Rio-themed dance, attended by more than 600 students.
