Sectional Success for Boys Swim

In the first year of the WLHS swim program, the boys swim co-op made history at the 2026 WIAA Division 1 Sectional in Muskego by placing 5th overall with 206 points. The meet was powered by standout performances from Gabe Hernandez ('28), Ben Hernandez ('29), and Ben West ('29) and resulted in another milestone: WLHS’ first-ever qualifier for the WIAA State Swimming Championships. Gabe led the team with runner-up finishes in the 200 Free and 500 Free, earning a trip to State and becoming the first swimmer in school history to compete at the championship meet.
Ben Hernandez added a 7th-place finish in the 100 Breaststroke and contributed key relay legs, while fellow freshman Ben West scored in the 100 Fly and 500 Free. The trio also helped power the 400 Free Relay to a 4th-place finish, showcasing a strong foundation for the future of the program.

Gabe will compete Friday and Saturday in the 200 and 500 freestyle at Waukesha South High School. Competition begins at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
