Students Explore Future Careers at Discover Health Care Expo

On March 3, one hundred WLHS students had the opportunity to explore exciting career pathways at the Discover Health Care Expo in the Waukesha and Milwaukee region.

Hosted by the Waukesha County Business Alliance, this interactive expo introduced students to the wide range of opportunities available within the healthcare industry. Through hands-on activities and demonstrations—including CPR practice, blood testing equipment, and physical therapy exercises—students gained real-world insight into what careers in healthcare look like.
The event showcased far more than traditional medical roles. Students learned about career pathways in nursing, engineering, manufacturing, dental, IT, coding, medical imaging, and more. Representatives from leading organizations such as Children’s Wisconsin, Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin, ProHealth Care, and UW–Milwaukee shared their expertise and experiences.

This annual expo connected our students with healthcare providers, educators, and industry leaders, helping them better understand the education, skills, and training required for a variety of high-demand careers. It was a valuable day of exploration and learning for our future healthcare leaders.
