Walz Named WBCA Coach of the Year
Wisconsin Lutheran Head Coach Ryan Walz ('92) has been named the 2026 WBCA High School Boys Basketball Coach of the Year by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association, marking the second consecutive year he has received the honor.
Walz led the Vikings to another historic season in 2025–26, guiding the team to a perfect 30–0 record and a third straight WIAA Division 1 State Championship.
Over the past three seasons, Wisconsin Lutheran has compiled an incredible 88–2 record.
In reflecting on the recognition, Coach Walz emphasized the strength of the entire program and the impact of his coaching staff from the varsity level through the youth program.

“It almost should be like a program coaching award,” Walz shared with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, recognizing the dedication and hard work of the many coaches who contribute to the success of Wisconsin Lutheran basketball.
