Second Annual Shepherd's Heart Award

Congratulations to Theology Department Coordinator and Instructor Ben Carlovsky, our second recipient of The Shepherd's Heart Award. The Shepherd’s Heart Award, an annual recognition established through the generous support of Mr. Jason and Mrs. Nancy ('72) Nelson, seeks to honor one outstanding teacher at Wisconsin Lutheran High School who exemplifies the qualities of a Christ-centered educator.
Mr. Carlovsky was nominated for
  • his passion for sharing Jesus and reflecting the love of Christ
  • his gift for speaking authoritatively on the Word of God, yet with genuiness, gentleness, and relevancy
  • his gentle encouragement and humble leadership
A livestream recording of the award ceremony chapel service can be found here.

Once a year, a selection committee reviews nominations, and the award recipient is given a monetary gift. Active faculty can be nominated and may only be awarded every five years.
