WLHS Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month
WLHS kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month on September 15 with a special dress-up day, inviting students to wear a favorite soccer or baseball jersey or a Hispanic Heritage Month shirt from a previous year. The celebration continues through October 15 with a variety of activities highlighting Hispanic culture, traditions, and community. Students can look forward to churro and concha sales, Flex trivia, Lotería, flower making, and Paletero Day throughout the month. Proceeds from the food sales will help support the culminating Hispanic Heritage Month assembly.
A special World Cup event will take place on Wednesday, September 30, from 5:30–6:30 p.m. in the parking lot, featuring a food truck and mariachi band. The month-long celebration will conclude with the Hispanic Heritage Month Assembly on Thursday, October 15.
