Happy 123rd Birthday, Wisco!
On September 21, 1903, Wisco’s story began with just 18 girls gathered in a gas-lit classroom at Milwaukee Evangelical Lutheran Akademie, taught by a small group of dedicated volunteers. Today, 123 years later, WLHS is blessed to serve more than 940 young men and women with the support of over 80 full-time faculty members.
So much has changed since those early days, but the heart of Wisco remains the same: sharing the Gospel and providing a Christ-centered education that prepares students for lives of faith and service. We give thanks to God for 123 years of blessings—and for the generations of students, families, faculty, and friends who have been part of the Wisco story.
